Investigations about the range of pheromone traps baited with the synthetic pheromone "trunc-call (1 + 2)" against the predator Teretriosoma nigrescens were made on a golf course north of Lome (Togo). Delta-flight traps of Agrisense and "SPV-GTZ" were used. For each distance tested (100-500 m) 1000 colourmarked adults of T. nigrescens were released. The installement of the traps was made 2 h before release. During the experiments the main wind direction was southwest and the wind speed was 1-4 m/sec. 46 h after release of the beetles the following data were obtained: no catches were made in the traps north and east in a distance further than 200 m. The longest distance trapping T. nigrescens was 450 m west.
