USE OF MAGNETIC RESONANCE IN PREGNANCY WITH SUSPECTED ACUTE APPENDICITIS

Appendicitis is the most common surgical emergency in pregnancy, acute appendicitis is often difficult to diagnose clinically, and concerns regarding antenatal imaging limit its, resulting in high false positive rate. Magnetic nuclear resonance has recently been reported as a reasonable alternative in cases of suspected appendicitis, when the clinically and ultrasound is inconclusive. This article is a review of the literature, showing the effectiveness of the method for this pathology.
