The density of Zola's naturalism seems inexhaustible, because it continues allowing us new interpretations. This article aspires to establish some ideological and aesthetic relations between naturalism and prerrafaelism. We will begin by a surprising approach between Zola and John Ruskin to continue with the aesthetic study of a feminine model, common to both movements. This new approach of the universe of Zola will possibly be able to contribute to the vindication of the unquestionable symbolic dimension of naturalism.
