摘要
D. koebelei is recorded for the first time in New Zealand. D. koebelei larvae fed predominantly on adult females of the long-tailed mealybug, Pseudococcus longispinus, especially in sheltered locations such as fruit bunches and under the bark. Over a two year period about 30% of adult female mealybugs in unsprayed fruit bunches at harvest were killed by D. koebelei larvae, but the predators were susceptible to insecticide sprays. It is considered that D. koebelei may become a useful predator against mealybugs in unsprayed locations.
