摘要
The use of a modified Onsager-Fuoss equation for predicting the specific conductance of dilute mixed salt solutions was evaluated. Corrections were made for the presence of ion-pairs in solution. Reasonable agreement was found between measured and calculated specific conductance (.+-. 8%). The modified Onsager-Fuoss equation can be applied to dilute aqueous solutions without special calibration of the equation for given experimental data. This is an advantage over earlier models for predicting the specific conductance of mixed salt solutions. Empirical equations were derived relating measured specific conductance and solution salt concentration.
