摘要
On the basic of a mathematical description of the interaction between the oxygen jet and the bath and a number of experimental data, in particular the slag emulsion density, the proportion of the kinetic energy of the stream used in forming the emulsion was determined, and found to vary during the blow between 0. 092 and 0. 240 of the kinetic energy of the jet on its coming into contact with the bath. Measurements of the bath and slag levels during the blow revealed four stages, which were distinguished by different forms of interaction between the metal and slag. Graduated injection of the bath is proposed, on a theoretical basis, with a variation in the blowing rate and in the lance position relative to the metal level at different stages of the blow.
