摘要：

Clarke's method is used to study the stability of the steady state of the Braylator, a simple model derived from our mechanism for the Bray reaction. Using the parameters indroduced by Clarke instead of the kinetic constants greatly simplifies this study and helps to pick out the destabilizing terms in the caracteristic equation. When the steady state is unstable, the Braylator generates oscillations similar to the experimental ones.
