Ming T. (Mike) Liu received his MSEE and PhD degrees from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering; Uni-versity of Pennsylvania in 1961 and 1964; respectively. He stayed on the faculty of the Moore School until 1969 when he joined the Ohio State Univer-sity; where he is presently Professor of Computer and Information Science. Since 1974 he has been heavily in-volved in local networking and distrib-uted processing; implementing two well-known local area networks DLCN and DDLCN. Currently; he serves as Chairman of the IEEE Computer Society's Technical Committee or; Distributed Processing; a speaker for the Distinguished Visitors Program. and an editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers. He is a member of the ACM and the Society of Sigma Xi; and a fellow of the IEEE.Wad Hilal received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the Department of Computer Science; Faculty of Engineering; Uni-versity of Alexandria; Egypt in 1976 and 1979 respectively.
