OBSERVATION OF XED AND XE2D IN NEON MATRIX

摘要
After photolysis and excitation with synchrotron radiation of a neon matrix doped with Xe and D2, two new emission bands show up besides the well-known Xe and Xe2 emissions. In analogy to the xenon-halides, these emissions are attributed to XeD and Xe2D. Excitation spectra of these emissions show that the excimers can be directly excited or formed by excitation of Xe, Xez and possibly deuterium excited states. The direct excitation and emission of XeD is assigned to transitions between the van der Waals ground state and the lowest ionic Xe+D- state. © 1990 The Japan Society of Applied Physics.
