摘要
The interaction of an intense short (subpicosecond) laser pulse with a transparent plasma is characterized by the rapid change of the plasma electron distribution function. This leads to the increase of electron-ion collision pumping rates and provides new prospects for collisionally pumped X-ray lasers.
