摘要
The calculated electron-applied properties of a modified cylindrical mirror analyzer are presented. The analyzer consists of two concentric cylinders with conical ends having half angles between 30-degrees and 90-degrees. It is shown that the Cylindrical Mirror Analyzer with Conical Ends (CMACE) has second-order focusing properties with remarkable dispersion. The CMACE extends the applicability of cylindrical mirrors in atomic and surface physics, because due to the conical closing it ensures more advantageous geometrical conditions for sample irradiation as well as for electron detection. Connecting two such elements, the arrangement can be applied for electron-electron coincidence measurements.
