HUGE INCREASE IN MAGNETIC-ORDERING TEMPERATURE OF FE2MN1-XVXSI AT INTERMEDIATE COMPOSITION

摘要
The paramagnetic Curie temperature theta(p) and the effective Bohr magneton number mu(eff) in Fe2Mn1-xVxSi were measured as a function of x. It is reported that theta(p) increases from 275 K at x=0 with increasing x, takes a maximum value of 369 K at x=0.6, and then decreases rapidly down to a negative value at x=1. On the other hand, mu(eff) decreases monotonically from 4.7 mu(B) at x=0 to 2.4 mu(B) at x=1. The degree of atomic disorder in the crystal was examined by the X-ray powder diffraction. The peculiarities of the band structure are suggested.
