ON THE MECHANISM OF MACROSEGREGATION FORMATION IN CONTINUOUSLY CAST STEELS

摘要：
The effect of cooling rate and casting speed has been studied. In order to find the direction of the liquid flow experiments with nails, inserted into the strand during the solidification, were performed. The nails were doped with FeS. Nails without FeS were used for studying the formation of V-segregates. Fluid flow can be explained by thermal contraction of the already solidified parts of the billet.
