The efficiency and socioeconomic effectiveness of cooperatives: approach since the updating of the Cuban economic model

The improvement of the Cuban Economic Model that, from the theory and the practice advances in correspondence with the expositions of the VII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba and of the Guidelines of the Economic and Social Policy of the Party, reaffirms the need to identify and take advantage of potentialities and reserves that contribute to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes that are developed in all forms of economic management. In this context, cooperatives have a vitally important role, both the entities of the agricultural sector and the recently created Non-Agricultural Cooperatives, which requires the implementation of mechanisms that allow an assessment of efficiency and effectiveness productive economic and social objective, so it is essential to apply efficiency and effectiveness indicators that pay to achieve positive results in the economic and social. In the work an assessment of the concepts of efficiency and effectiveness and its importance for the cooperative management is carried out, a system of indicators is valued, in particular for the NonAgricultural Cooperatives, in order to improve its economic and social management, its sustainability and its contribution to the National Economy and the development of society as a whole.
