A soybean and a rapeseed oils were water degummed, treated with phosphoric acid, alkali refined then water washed. Each of these steps participate to phosphorus removal. Oils obtained after each of these operations were dialysed in hexane. With this technique we can recuperate up to 100% of the phospholipids contained in the oil. The phospholipids composition is determined by TLC. Crude and water degummed oils contain PA, PE, PI, PC and some unknown phosphorus-containing compounds. The PA and other polar compounds which do not migrate in TLC are the more difficult phosphatides to eliminate.
