摘要
Two-photon photoemission from a NO adsorbed Cu(111) surface was measured with 5 ns duration laser light. We resolved photoemission features due to neutral-excited and negative-ion states of adsorbed NO. The spectral line widths of the NO-induced features were about 0.3 eV, as narrow as 1/3-1/5 of those of typical one-photon or inverse photoemission spectra. The result suggests that the electronic structure of the adsorbed molecule is not far from one of free molecule as far as the ground, neutral-excited and negative-ion states are concerned.
