摘要
Purpose: Resveratrol (trans-3,4', 5-trihydroxystilbene) is a naturally occurring polyphenolic compound highly enriched in grapes, nuts, red wine, and a wide variety of food sources. Resveratrol has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anticancer properties. In this study, Human Epidermoid Larynx HEp-2 cell lines were used to examine the apoptotic effect of resveratrol. Materials and Methods: Human Epidermoid Larynx HEp-2 cell lines were cultured and then exposed to different concentrations of resveratrol for various periods. After treatments, apoptotic cell deaths were determined using morphological changes and DNA fragmentation methods. Results: Our data show that resveratrol induces dose-and time-dependent death of HEp-2 cells, as measured morphologically and by internucleosomal DNA fragmentation assay. Conclusion: Our data suggest that the apoptotic effect of resveratrol on HEp-2 cell lines may be useful for the treatment of certain types of cancer.
