Structure-property relationships in organic chemistry - developing new teaching concepts

摘要
Chemistry is considered as one of the most demanding studies and the attrition rate is higher than in other disciplines. One reason is the demand on time, but also the lack of modern teaching concepts. For a new definition of meaningful and applicable concepts, new research findings should be related to the basic concepts. Chemistry offers successful ordering schemes that are not used to their full potential to integrate new knowledge. This article emphasizes the importance of structure-property relationships in organic chemistry. The development of the six-electron concept exemplifies how a heuristic approach emerged from new research findings.
