摘要：
In this paper an integrated end-to-end performance model concerning read-only transactions in a distributed database is presented. The approach is that of splitting the whole system in a number of subsystems. The proposed model for each sybsystem is characterized by simplicity. In the proposed analysis there are no strong restrictive assumptions, and the model can be used in a great number of situations. Results concerning a distributed environment based on a wide area network are presented.
