IFN-alpha 2b Induction Treatment with Ribavirin in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis C

摘要：

We aimed to investigate the efficacy of interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha) 2b induction treatment in combination with ribavirin. In total, 34 naive chronic hepatitis C patients were enrolled in the study. Patients received 5 MU/day of IFN for eight weeks followed by 3 MU three times a week for an aditional 40 weeks. Ribavirin was administered 1000-1200 mg/day according to the body weight for the entire 48 week period. Two patients excluded from the study on their own demand. Among 32 patients completed the therapy, 21 (%65.6) had end of treatment response and 19 (%59.3) had sustained virologic response. Two patients relapsed and one had breakthrough.
