An Analysis of Online Resources for Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a chronic endocrine disorder affecting women and girls of reproductive age. Management of the condition requires information, which women often seek on the Internet. Sites providing information to individuals diagnosed with PCOS, their families, friends, caregivers, and health professionals are prevalent on the Internet, often including relevant information about the syndrome as well as resources for support. The author conducted a survey of online informational and support resources on the topic of PCOS with the goal of identifying the range of resources available and evaluating the content and quality of these sites.
