TECHNOLOGICAL advances, such as the development of smaller ellites, are permitting low-cost to space. The S80T miniature satellite, for instance, provides VHF operation and requires an antenna that can provide uniform response over the entire hemisphere in which the satellite is visible. This requirement is satisfied a four-element, circularly-polarized monopole array design.
