The Open: The man and the animal of Giorgio Agamben - A hypertext attempt

The article propose elaborate an exegesis of Giorgio Agamben's book "The Open: Man and Animal" in order to expose the central argument of the work as well as situate the author in contemporary Political Philosophy. For Agamben, the open is not located in a phenomenological-existential analytic of Being. Politically, the privileged place of handling this concept lies specifically in the organic's biophilosophy degrees. The definition of these degrees becomes increasingly inaccurate in proportion to it is proposed to distinguish the boundary between what is animal and what is human. The Agamben's innovation to approach this question, therefore, is the way he politicized the issue of the open and located in a strategic zone between zoology and policies of the human being. The entification of the open, isn't for Agamben an index of scientistic conspurcation; rather, it is an index of incessant politicization, namely, relocation conceptual, disciplinary modulation and legal institutionalization. Agamben wants not just a science of politics, but also a politics of science, understanding science as a sovereign place of mobilization, manipulation and control of bodies. The science, specifically, the biophilosophy and the sciences of man, are the legislators of the public decision about what is the human being. Who decides what is the human being decides ex ante which political and moral should provide for public order.
