摘要
In this paper we report to our knowledge for the first time diode pumped room temperature cw laser action around 1.6 mu m in Er3+-doped Y3Al5O12 (YAG) and Y2SiO5 (YSO) with Yb3+-codoping. Results under non optimized doping concentrations show a slight advantage of YAG with respect to the laser efficiency whereas the advantage of YSO is the shorter emission wavelength (1545 nm) and the possibility of continuous tunability.
