Role of exercise and healthy eating in the physical effects of elderly women

摘要
The third age is a period marked by physiological and anatomical changes that impact on eating habits. Physical exercise to prevents diseases that occur later in accordance with age. We evaluated 28 students of a gym aged between 65 to 75 years. Using a questionnaire regarding dietary habits, physical activity, social and nutritional counseling for a period stipulated which aimed to evaluate the effect of physical exercise and healthy eating in physical effects of women during the third age. The result of this study shows that exercise combined with proper diet promotes a decreased risk of disease, weight loss, health maintenance, and improved selfesteem, physical well-being, mental and social. Therefore, the physical exercise produces an increase in elderly endurance; improve flexibility and posture, increased life expectancy.
