Introduction: Currently, obesity is one of the most serious public health problems. Its prevalence has been growing in recent decades, both in developed countries, as in the developing world, leading to the disease condition that global epidemic. Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status and dietary intake of children aged 4 to 11 years enrolled in the School of Model Adventist University of Sao Paulo - UNASP - Campus 1. Methodology: The children were weighed and measured with balance and meter of stature and classified in body mass index - BMI and curve of National Center for Health Statistics NCHS. A questionnaire has been prepared for this research, containing questions related to nutrition of children, often food and general information and sent to parents /guardians for completion. Results: Of the 209 children evaluated anthropometry, 6.10% showed up in low weight, 51.64% in eutrophication, 29.58% and 12.68% in overweight in obesity. On the questionnaires of food history, only 30.84% returned them. Conclusion: There was a worrying prevalence of overweight children and obesity, which confirms the public health problem.
