摘要：

La llama doble, Octavio Paz develops the five elements of our Western image of love, this is, exclusiveness, reciprocity, trangression, fatality-freedom. And the transposition of body and soul. This paper presents a Reading of the novel Del amor y otros demonios by Gabriel Garcia Marquez from this proposal by Octavio Paz. After a review of each of these elements, the reader finds all of them expressed particularly in Cayetano Delaura's escicions, which allows him to have the same emotional age as Sierva Maria de Todos los Angeles. Thus this novel depicts a love between these two characters, and not any kind of love, but a first love.
