摘要
The individual awareness of ourselves, our conscience, seems to be responsible for the ability to formulate questions and seek the corresponding answers. In the last decades, the scientific effort - the most successful strategy to make our world intelligible-has addressed the problem of its characterization and understanding, based on evidence, as opposed to revelation or speculation. Everything suggests that conscience results from the concerted activity of different areas of the brain, though we are still a long way from its understanding.
