VACUUM ANNEALING EFFECTS ON BI1.8PB0.2SR2CA2CU3O9.9+Y HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTOR

The lattice parameters a and c, superconducting onset temperature T(c)on and volume fraction rate of high T(c) superconductive phase f(s) were investigated for the Bi1.8Pb0.2Sr2Ca2Ca3O9.9 + y-delta system. Here y approximately 0.3 and delta is the amount of oxygen deficiency per chemical formula unit by vacuum annealing. The steep changes of a, c, T(c)on and f(s) were observed at 0 < delta < 0.3, and the f(s) became zero at delta = delta-c approximately 1.6. The above experimental results were discussed on the basis of hole donor reduction by the oxygen deficiency.
