This paper presents a study of cutting forces during turning of ZA43 alloy reinforced with SiC was carried out with SNMG ceramic tools. The fabrication of MMC was done using liquid metallurgy technique. SiC particle size (30 mu m, 60 ae m and 120 mu m) and volume fraction (5%, 10% and 15%) was varied during the fabrication process. The MMC specimen was turned with ceramic tool under dry condition by varying machining parameters. Cutting force measurement was carried out during the experiment and influence of machining conditions and material composition on cutting force was analyzed. The plan of experiment with 243 trials was designed by full factorial method. ANOVA was used to check the significant parameters affecting the cutting force value. The results reveal that increasing depth of cut, particle size and volume fraction cause significant increase in the cutting force where as cutting force decreases with increase in cutting speed.
