摘要：

A 1:600,000 map of the current state of humus in the soils of Volgograd Oblast was compiled and used to analyze the distribution of humus in relation to geomorphology. The humus reserves in the soils of water divides and slopes are shown. Humus losses during 20 years of agricultural use of the soils (including experiment station activity and irrigation) were calculated, and broken into erosional and biochemical losses. Estimates of optimal and critical humous content are mapped.
