摘要：
We present a strict view concerning the construction of software technology: at any stage in the development, from requirements to software, the developer must be able to calculate properties of the software being developed. This view is presented here wrt. embedded, real-time computing systems. Similar presentations can be made wrt. other software application areas: knowledge based systems, etc. This view is the basis for a major aspect of the education, training, project and research programme for the new United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology (UNU/IIST) being established now in Macau.
