摘要
The author proposes a method of analysing the equation describing ideal ballooning modes near the stability boundary in axisymmetric tokamaks. Both even and odd perturbations of the base level are analysed. The dispersion equations thus derived are valid for any values of the Mercier index s and represent a more generalized form of the results obtained by earlier authors.
