The Bermeja peridotite massif is placed over the cordierite gneiss with lithoclasts (GCL) that overly schists belonging to the Guadaiza unit. Elements derived from various Alpujarride units constitute the lithoclasts. The gneiss record extensional brittle and ductile shearing, contemporary with leucogranite intrusions. The occurrence of peridotite slices inside the gneiss gives evidence that several imbricate slabs of mantle peridotite form part of the Alpujarride complex.
