Approach to measuring quality of life in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus

摘要：

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic autoimmune disease, inflammatory and multisystem. It can be severe and causes outbreaks of exacerbation and remission. The patients quality of life is a parameter in the development of their disease in order to influence its improvement. The present study is an approach to the study of the quality of life of 64 patients with a questionnaire composed of 17 questions with response values from 0 to 10 and 4 sociodemographic questions. The results indicate an average of 5.36 quality of life globally, finding no significant differences between demographic variables and those related to the course of the disease. Neither association between time with lupus, time to definitive diagnosis, age and quality of life values was found. With the validation of the questionnaire used and more data, in the future it could be sought to give a more approximate response to these patients reality.
