The article highlights the advanced experience of the modern methodological researchers investigating different ways of mastering the conversational style of communication. Also, the article presents the results of the carried out analysis of the informal communication teaching methods in the modern pedagogical theory and practice. On the ground of the accomplished analysis there are formulated the methodological recommendations to be considered in developing the methodology of teaching modern foreign colloquial speech by means of the authentic works of literature, that, on the one hand, will ensure conformity of the studied speech to its real analogues, and on the other hand, will provide accessibility to them in order to make reading the original works of literature possible for any student who is out of the language environment.
