摘要
In this paper, a method for image registration using 2D regions as correspondence features is proposed. The proposed method consists of three stages. First, a region segmentation technique is used to find reasonably good regions in image pairs. Second, an adjacency relationship based region matching technique is proposed to find corresponding regions between image pairs. Lastly, a method for finding the affine transformation between regions based on minimum enclosing ellipses is presented. Extensive experiments are performed to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method in registering real image pairs subject to large perspective distortions.
