摘要：
Official certificates of stillbirth and infant death are analysed in the birth cohort of 1979-81. Congenital malformations account for .apprx. 40% of infant mortality. Cantonal differences in malformation rates are not explained by different incidence of such malformations only, but also by differences in lethalty. Incidence of anencephaly is examined in detail.
