SPIN-LATTICE RELAXATION AND VISCOSITY IN MIXTURES OF N-HEXANE AND N-HEXADECANE

摘要
The normalized decay of magnetization in mixtures of hexane and hexadecane was accurately described by a double-exponential expression with the preexponentials equal to the proton fractions. Two methods were used to define a single-valued “effective” relaxation time for each mixture. Both of these relaxation times are closely related to the mixture viscosity. The mole fraction weight-average relaxation rate is a linear function of the viscosity. The proton fraction weight-average relaxation rate shows a second-order dependence on the viscosity. © 1990, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
