N-(4-HYDROXY-4-METHYL-3-TETRAHYDROPYRANYL) DERIVATIVES OF AMINO-ACIDS - SYNTHESIS AND PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIVITY

摘要
Nucleophilic substitution gave rise to N-(4-hydroxy-4-methyl-3-tetrahydropyranyl) derivatives of mono- and dicarboxylic neuroactive amino acids, followed by determination of the spectral and physicochemical characteristics of the compounds. Pyranyl derivatives of inhibitory amino acids such as glycine, beta-alanine, and gamma-aminobutyric acids were found to produce anticonvulsive and analgesic effects, lowering the emotional reaction of fear. N-(4-hydroxy-4-methyl-3-tetrahydropyranyl) derivatives of glutamic and aspartic acids prolonged the duration of tonic and clonic convulsations.
