摘要
The current recommendation for the treatment of thymic tumors and myasthenia gravis (MG) is surgical thymectomy. Over the past two decades, the advantages of minimally invasive thymectomy have been elucidated within the literature. However, no standard approach has been identified as superior to an open approach. This manuscript reviews the literature regarding surgical management of thymic tumors and MG and reports on a new method for surgical thymectomy utilizing the robotic da Vinci surgical system. This new technology combines the advantages of minimally invasive techniques with the effectiveness of an open procedure.
