Dammarane triterpenoids from the stem bark of Amoora cucullata (Meliaceae)

From the ethylacetate extract of the stem bark of Amoora cucullata (Meliaceae), four triterpenoids dammara-20,24-diene-3-one, 20(S)-hydroxydammar-24-ene-3-one, cabraleone and cabraleadiol were isolated by flash column chromatography and preparative thin layer chromatography over silica gel. The structures of all of these compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses (IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, EIMS and HREIMS). This is the first report of the phytochemical analyses and the presence of dammarane type triterpenoids in Amoora cucullata.
