摘要
A comparison of various polarisation mode dispersion (PMD) measurement methods in a 1600km EDFA (Er-doped fibre amplifier) system is presented for the first time. The PMD in the 1600km EDFA system was measured to be 3.6 - 5.8ps. These values were in good agreement with the PMD value of approximately 4.3ps estimated from the active EDFAs and the dispersion shifted fibres.
