SCATTERING PHASES IN LOW-ENERGY ELECTRON-DIFFRACTION FROM SPOT PROFILE ANALYSIS AND FROM MULTIPLE-SCATTERING THEORY

摘要
Spot Profile Analysis Low Energy Electron Diffraction (SPA-LEED) on pseudomorphic submonolayers of Fe(1 1 0) on W(1 1 0) provides experimental access to phase shift differences between wavelets scattered from Fe top-layer terraces and from the uncovered W-surface, respectively. These phase shifts are alternatively determined within a dynamical LEED calculation and agree surprisingly well with the experimental results.
