USE OF ANTIGRANULOCYTES BEDS IN THE INERTIAL IMPACTION REGIME FOR AEROSOL SIZE DISTRIBUTION MEASUREMENT

摘要
A feasibility study was carried out using granular beds in the inertial impaction regime, as impactors, in order to determine the size distribution of micron sized aerosol particles. The main steps of this feasibility study involved an experimental checking of the collection efficiency of granular beds operating in the inertial impaction regime, the design of a prototype granular bed impactor, the development of an algorithm for data reduction and validation of this data treatment by numerical simulations and the comparison of our prototype with the Andersen Mark II impactor. The main potential application of this device is the measurement of highly concentrated aerosols, especially at high temperature or pressures.
