Closure of Bronchopleural Fistula With Glue: An Effective Treatment

Bronchopleural fistula is a life-threatening complication of pulmonary resection. We report the case of a 28-year-old woman who developed a fistula after pneumonectomy for destroyed lung due to multi drug resistant tuberculosis. The fistula was successfully sealed with a bovine albumin-glutaraldehyde tissue adhesive (Bio-Glue; Cryolife Inc, Kennesaw, GA) via rigid bronchoscope. We believe that this approach may be an effective alternative treatment option for bronchopleural fistula.
