EFFECTS OF FIBER NONLINEARITIES AND AMPLIFIER SPACING ON ULTRA-LONG DISTANCE TRANSMISSION

摘要
We show that it should be possible to send essentially error-free signals at rate of 2.5 Gb/s or more over 9000 km, using solitions at optimum fiber dispersion. Amplifier spacings must be close enough that amplifier gains are less than 10 dB.
