The university extension process: an analysis from a theoretical perspective

In management of universities to the extent it has not been given due importance has generally been poorly treated and is not associated it with the support or service that the university can give to communities. It is necessary to study the relationship between university extension and community education and community service, to manage in a different way getting more support to communities and organizations that are in them. For this, use the literature review on the topic, and theories related to these that allow us to observe that the extension is a great tool and opportunity for Venezuelan universities, both public and private, to meet the challenge of producing unprecedented responses in a context of crisis and transformation in a historical period of world globalization. It is for the university, extension, an opportunity for renewal, to establish a commitment to building a better society, fair, modern, in which the values of sovereignty, humanism, solidarity, equality and freedom, leading to the conquest of a university committed to social problems and their possible contributions benefit the community it should serve.
