Challenges for Women in the 21st Century Concerning Education: An Impulse for a Gender Perspective

摘要
This article points at a series of thoughts concerning the challenges that women have to face in order to take part in the construction of this culture of gender equity, particularly within the context of education, for different reasons. This area is somehow regulated by social organization and interaction systems between the two genders that can be more generalized. In these systems, there is a diversity of social roles, positions and functions to be developed defined by gender. Their construction within the educational facilities, their impact on society and other social groups of reference (such as the family) is greater than in any other area of shared life. It is in the area of education where standards for living together can be redefined by gender equity and equal opportunities for the development of men and women. So that the article finishes with the proposal of some challenges, thus considered because of their level of feasibility, and some suggestions (resulting from thought) in an attempt to idealize a gender culture inside and outside university centres.
