摘要
Beta-blockers are clearly indicated in the treatment of coronary artery disease. On the other hand, they lost their first place in the treatment of arterial hypertension, particularly due to their metabolic side effects. However, beta-blockers of the third generation, carvedilol and nebivolol, on the one hand show excellent antihypertensive effects, while, on the other hand, they lack metabolic side effects. Therefore, in arterial hypertension, beta-blockers are not only indicated in the prevention of secondary coronary artery disease but particularly also in patients with additional heart failure, tachyarrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, aortic dissection, glaucoma, pregnancy, migraine, hyperthyrosis or essential tremor.
